Ministry Week 2027
Ministry Week 2027 is a three-day conference that calls together faith leaders, lay leaders, church folk, and more to be educated and inspired to meet the pressing needs of the 21st century church.
In collaboration with the inaugural Gongloff Creative Worship and Prophetic Preaching Fellows, this year’s meeting will feature distinguished speakers from the church and the academy to explore timely topics like examining the character of the prophetic, reimagining worship through ritual and narrative, innovatively using AI in ministry, forging practical steps towards inclusiveness in ecclesial communities, and resisting white Christian nationalism.
Through this year's focus on worship and prophetic preaching, Ministry Week aims to activate attendees towards action.
This year’s meeting entitled “And Yet, This is Our Story: Prophetic Witness in this Present Age,” will prominently feature distinguished speakers from the church and the academy to explore timely topics like reimagining worship through ritual and narrative, using AI in ministry, inclusiveness in ecclesial communities, resisting white Christian nationalism, and more.
This year’s convening was created in partnership with the inaugural Gongloff Fellows, a fellowship of preacher-practitioners and scholars to imagine innovative ways to advance creative worship and prophetic preaching in the Christian church. The fellowship was funded by a charitable donation from Nancy Gongloff, in memory of her spouse the Rev. Paul Gongloff, whose innovative approach to ministry addressed social justice concerns through community activism, prophetic preaching, and creative worship.
Further details on Ministry Week 2027, including the theme, program, and featured speakers and preachers, will be announced in the coming months. Check out the full sessions and worship services at brite.edu/livestream.
