Tuition Exchange Program Guidelines
The Tuition Exchange (TE) program provides expanded educational opportunities for the dependent children of Brite Divinity School faculty and staff by allowing them to apply for tuition scholarships at over 750 colleges and universities. TE scholarships are competitive awards and participation is limited. Please review the following information concerning the application process. For a list of schools that are members of the Tuition Exchange, please visit tuitionexchange.org/schools. If you have additional questions, please contact the TE Liaison Officer, Vanessa Daley.
EXPORT APPLICANTS
Export Applicants for the Tuition Exchange program must be qualified dependents of Brite faculty and staff.
Brite’s export applicants are only eligible for TE scholarship for first-degree undergraduate study.
Funding applies to tuition costs only. Fees, room and board, books, and other expenses are the responsibility of the applicant. At some universities, the amount of the benefit may be capped.
Brite has no control over who is accepted at other institutions. Ultimate approval for funding from this program is granted by the attending university.
The TE Scholarship is competitive and space is limited.
Applicants who are not selected will be placed on a waiting list.
Eligibility to apply for a TE Scholarship is determined by Brite. However, the attending university chooses recipients. Brite cannot guarantee that an applicant, regardless of qualifications, will receive a TE scholarship.
Dependents who are utilizing Tuition Remission to attend TCU will forfeit that funding when transferring to another university under the TE.
Export Applicants should notify the TE Liaison Officer of their intention to apply no later than November 15 for enrollment in the fall semester of the following year.
Summer classes are never covered under the TE program.
The Brite Tuition Exchange Liaison Officer will recertify students each year based on eligibility.
IMPORT APPLICANTS
Incoming TE applicants must apply to Brite via the normal application process. Applicants will be reviewed and ranked according to standard admissions criteria. This process, which the TCU TE Liaison Officer will coordinate, will determine the selection of recipients for available spaces at Brite.
Graduate awards are generally renewable for four semesters. Students must maintain minimum satisfactory academic progress as defined by the attending institution. The Brite Tuition Exchange Liasion Officer will recertify students each year based on eligibility.
Students pursuing a Master of Divinity degree and are in satisfactory academic standing will receive Brite grants/scholarships to cover tuition and fees for two additional semesters.
Students may enroll on a part-time basis but awards may be capped at four semesters.
