Faculty Advisor

Joe Wiinikka-Lydon, MDiv, PhD, (he/they) is a senior researcher at the Southern Poverty Law Center, where he researches religious and antigovernment extremism. Joe is also a researcher who has written on issues of moral injury and is the author of Moral Injury and the Promise of Virtue, which examines genocide through the lens of both moral injury and virtue ethics. He has a second book, Encampment, forthcoming in 2027 with Rutgers University Press, that explores violence and political imaginaries.
