Earth and Eco-justice Week at Brite

Monday April 19th
Explore various resources and information regarding environmentalism, ecological justice, sustainability, and ecological theology. Also join us for a prayer meditation. We will meet at Brite in Weatherly Hall at 2pm to head over to UCC’s courtyard.
Tuesday April 20
Join us for a Chapel service concerning environmental stewardship at 11am. Also, stop by our display to find worship resources concerning the environment and the celebration of all creation.
Wednesday April 21
Have you ever wanted to learn how to start a garden? Come join fellow student Kim Fletcher at the Wesley Foundation lunch at noon as she talks about how to start an organic garden and provides some general gardening tips. The lunch is $3, however if you don’t have the money you are still welcome to come and will not be turned away from any food. All are welcome!
Thursday April 22
Sustainability begins with supporting our local economies and using local resources, so join Brite Green in learning more about local resources right here in Dallas/Fort Worth. We will have information on local food resources (like farmer’s markets), local energy resources, and locally owned stores.
Friday April 23
Ever wondered what to do with hazardous household waste? Would you like to learn more about various recycling options for batteries, paint, motor oil and other hazardous materials? Brite Green will be offering information and advice about proper disposal of these dangerous substances and you can even dispose of your hazardous household materials at one of our drop-off points at Brite and Liebrock village.
Saturday April 24
Want to get more involved? Join Brite Green for a local park clean-up followed by a trip to Prairie Fest! We will meet behind Brite at 8:30 a.m. and head to a local park for clean up until 11am. Later we will carpool to Prairie Fest (http://www.tandyhills.org/prairiefest.htm). All are welcome to come! (If you have gloves, please bring them with you)
