Student Travel Grants – Spring 2010

The TCU Institute on Women and Gender and the TCU Women’s Studies Program is pleased to announce a special opportunity for travel funds for TCU undergraduate and graduate students engaged in research and/or creative activities pertaining to women and gender. Grants are available to full time students from all disciplinary areas including the social sciences, humanities, science, engineering, health sciences, fine arts, communications, ballet and modern dance, business, education, and theological studies. Student recipients will be chosen on the merits of a written proposal. The maximum amount awarded will be $400.

Recipients of the grants must travel within one year of receipt of the award and are expected to submit a written report within that one year period or if a senior, before graduation. To be eligible for funding, the travel must be related to a project or activity with a significant gender and/or women’s studies component. All grants for travel are in the form of reimbursements and must follow TCU guidelines for reimbursement up to awarded amount. Winners are expected to attend the Women’s Studies Breakfast on April 23, 2010 in the Kelly Alumni Center.

Applications will include the following:

  1. A typed, double-spaced abstract not to exceed 250 words in which the student summarizes the significance of the proposed project and purpose of travel. Other sources of funding, if appropriate, should be included.
  2. Vita or resume.
  3. Tentative budget (one page maximum).
