Islamic Awareness Week

April 12-16. A whole week of events designed to raise awareness and remove misconceptions surrounding Islam, the world’s second largest faith group. Bring your questions and come with an open mind. Hosted by the Muslim Student Association (MSA).

Monday, April 12: Interfaith Panel
Interfaith dialogue with representatives of the Jewish, Christian and Islamic faiths.
Location: BLUU Ballroom
Time: 5 – 6:30 pm

Tuesday, April 13: Marriage in Islam
Hear firsthand from Muslim couples about what marriage means in Islam.
Location: Miller room, BLUU 3rd floor
Time: 5 – 6:30 pm

Wednesday, April 14: Screening of “Inside Islam: What a Billion Muslims Really Think” Documentary
A brief discussion will follow, along with Arabian cuisine and the Kinemonda Film Festival screening of “In This World.”
Location: Sid Richardson Lecture Hall 4
Time: 6 – 7:30 pm

Thursday, April 15: Tunnel of Oppression
Come with MSA as we walk through the Tunnel of Oppression, learning about different types of human suffering in the world today and what we can do about it.
Location: BLUU
Time: TBA (exhibits are open between 3 – 10 pm)

Friday, April 16: Visit the local mosque!
A tour of Hulen Mosque. Students will witness the Friday congregational prayers. This fulfils the “house of worship” visit that is required by many religion courses at TCU.
Location: meet us in the BLUU first floor at 1 pm
Time: 1 – 3 pm
