The Reverend Doctor Byron A. Lamun Memorial Scholarship Fund
In memory of Byron A Lamun, Brite M.Div., 1961; MTH, 1964; D.Min., 1973, (1935-2013), a scholarship fund has been established. In the selection of beneficiaries of this scholarship assistance, primary consideration will be given to students who have an interest in Pastoral Theology, Care and Counseling.
The Glenn and Ruth Routt Endowment Fund
In memory of Glenn (1918-2012) and Ruth Routt, an endowment fund has been established. Dr. Routt taught Theology at Brite from 1948 until his retirement in 1989. The purpose of this fund will be to assist in providing Ph.D. Student Stipends at Brite Divinity School.
The Andrew D. Lester Memorial Student Award for Excellence in the Discipline of Pastoral Care and Pastoral Theology
In memory of Andrew D. Lester, Ph.D., (1939-2010), who taught Pastoral Care and Pastoral Theology at Brite from 1991 until his retirement in 2005, a student award has been established. Once this fund has reached its goal it will be awarded to a Brite Ph.D. student in the Pastoral Care and Pastoral Theology program.
The Ralph E. Stone Fund for Religion, Theology and the Arts
In memory of Ralph E. Stone, Brite M.Div., 1954, D.D., 1975. (1928 – 2012 ), an endowed fund has been established to provide financial support for programs/courses, projects, performances, exhibitions, etc., sponsored by, or coordinated by Brite Divinity School, which address, recognize and celebrate the intersection of religion, theology and the arts.
The Earl R. Bissex Memorial Ministerial Scholarship Fund
In memory of Earl R. Bissex, Brite M.Div., 1948, D.Min., 1978, (1925-2011) a ministerial scholarship fund has been established to assist with tuition grants to Disciples of Christ students enrolled at Brite Divinity School.
The Roy F. Melugin Student Award
In memory of Roy F. Melugin, Ph.D. (1937-2008), Research Professor of Hebrew Bible, who taught at Brite from 2000 until 2007, a student award has been established. This annual student award is presented to a student at Brite Divinity School who, in the spirit of Dr. Roy Melugin, exhibits and demonstrates love of neighbor, has taken Hebrew Bible coursework and has completed at least two years of their seminary studies.
